"Blumble Bee" The only bee pattern you will ever need

The Blumble Beewas developed a few years ago after I watched a little brookie in my favorite stream gobble down a bee that had just stung me. This fly was the eventual manifestation of a bee pattern I began to develop after that day. This is by far the best small stream brook trout fly I have ever fished and I've had some that I thought were great. The great thing about this fly is that I have raised fish on days that it seems like they won't eat anything, even early season. You're missing out if you don't try it.

  1. What is the best way to buy the materials required for this fly? If I walk into my local fly shop with this material list in hand, is it likely they will have all of the materials? Can one purchase a kit for this fly? I'm very new to this craft. Thank you for your advice!s

  2. Yes you can absolutely purchase a kit for this fly, your local shop should have the materials for this pattern, the only thing they may not have is the hook, but that can be substituted for something similar that they do have. If they don't have it, my website is partnered with an excellent fly shop that does have this as a kit, you can order from us through email.

  3. Cool fly but that is no Bumble Bee, it is a Yellow Jacket if I ever saw one!

  4. lol you got me there, but I've never seen a yellow jacket that big so we will stick with bumble bee. I was wondering if someone was ever going to point that out.
